Hey Everyone!

I am very proud to have graduated from Tyler Street Christian Academy in Oak Cliff, TX and Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX.  I married Roosevelt (my wonderful, smart, loving husband) 12 years ago.  Roosevelt and I have a great time together and have a marriage that speaks to God’s goodness.  We want people to know marriage is fun and it can glorify God.  God is STILL blessing marriages with long, healthy life spans!  We have two elementary-aged children, Naomi and Roosevelt III.

I am a worship leader and choir director of the contemporary choirs at Highland Park United Methodist Church. I direct the choirs for Cornerstone and Munger Place, www.cornerstoneworship.org.  I love listening to the songs we are going to sing on Sunday and figuring out something exciting for the choirs to sing. And it’s the best job!  I get to hang with people who love to worship and are great singers.

I’m very, very picky about how I spend my time and so if it sounds like I really love everything I’m associated with, that’s because I love everything I’m associated with.  One of my GREATEST passions is joining my family in ministry every week.  We have a non-profit organization called Love Ministries, www.loveministriesbuilds.org.  We provide services to at-risk children and teenagers on a weekly basis.  I love serving alongside my family and I get to plan several of our yearly events.  We have a Hallelujah House, which is a carnival in October; we have a HUGE Christmas Celebration every December, and we have a yearly retreat for teenagers at the end of May.  I get to put together a worship band of teenagers and young adults for the retreat every year and I write a theme song that we use for our main worship song during the retreat.  Somehow, every year gets better than the last, I can’t explain it, but we have the BEST time at this retreat.  Check us out!  We have so much going on for children and teenagers.

I am blessed to know why God has put me on this earth.  God has given me a powerful singing voice.  And I pray every day that as I minister, people will feel the power of the Holy Spirit.  I want to glorify God every time I sing.  My favorite verse has been Matthew 5:13-16 since I was a teenager.  As I minister, my goal is to introduce people to a loving and generous God who wants to be EVERYTHING to them!

I am recording my first CD right now and God is teaching me so much.  I want to share the journey with you in this blog.  Enjoy!

God Bless,
